Finding your computer's IP address

Windows 2000/XP:

· Click on the Start menu, then click "Run..." :


· Type "cmd", without the quotes, and click the "OK" button:


· An MS-DOS prompt window should appear that looks like this:


· Type "ipconfig", without the quotes, then press the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
· Your computer's IP address will be the numbers listed after "IP Address" under the "Ethernet Adapter" section. In this example, the computer's IP address is
192.168.1.150 :


· Type "exit", without the quotes, or click the "X" button in the upper-right corner to close this window when you are finished.
